In the city itself, we take a walk through the Company Gardens followed by a drive passing the Houses of parliament, City Hall, Castle and Slave Lodge.

After breakfast we depart for Stellenbosch – The City of Oaks. We will spend some time meandering through the quaint streets of this iconic Winelands Town. Such a beautiful town with its massive oak tree lined streets, sidewalk cafes, art galleries and immaculately preserved Cape Dutch architecture. You will get a feel for the Dutch colonial history here.

The entire town is surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands and the mountainous nature reserves known as the Jonkershoek and Simonsberg. Stellenbosch is situated about 50km from Cape Town. This part of the day tour gives our guests an opportunity to experience a wide range of cultivars including visiting a local wine farm where you will get your first opportunity to taste some of the local wines.

After Stellenbosch, we take a scenic 30km drive over the Helshoogte Pass in into the stunningly beautiful town known as Franschoek. This is one of the oldest towns in the Cape Winelands area dating back to the 17th century when the first French Huguenots arrived. Their presence is easily distinguishable by the architecture, exquisite selection of food and of course, the substance that France is most famous for – wine. In fact, Franschoek has been given the title of the Gourmet Capital of Cape Town. We will enjoy another wine tasting here followed by a typical culinary experience, Franschoek style. Lunch at your own expense. The last leg of our Cape Town Winelands tour will see us traveling 35km to the town of Paarl, one of Cape Town’s first wining areas. In fact, the first ever commercial wine cellar known as KWV is housed here. The scenery here is also remarkable and stunning. The town is nestled below some spectacular granite domes from where it got its name. Paarl in Afrikaans means Pearl in English. We will enjoy another wine tasting tour here before heading back to Cape Town by late afternoon. Evening at leisure.
